Canticle of Simeon * Luke 2:29-32.
29. Nunc dimíttis ☩ servum tuum, mine, *
secúndum verbum tuum in pace :
29. Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, + * according to thy word in peace;
30. Quia vidérunt óculi mei *
salutáre tuum,
30. Because my eyes have seen * thy salvation,
31. Quod pasti *
ante fáciem ómnium popurum,
31. Which thou hast prepared * before the face of all peoples:
32. Lumen ad revelatiónem Géntium, *
et glóriam plebis tuæ Israël.
32. A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, * and the glory of thy people Israel.
V. Glória Patri, et lio, *
et Spirítui Sancto.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
R. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, *
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
